Prenatal

Prenatal massage, side-lying

A session for expecting parents, on your side and supported with pillows, for 45, 60 or 90 minutes.

We work on the neck, shoulders, hips and legs, in the places you ask for. You choose the pressure, and your belly stays covered and supported.

  • Side-lying with a long pillow between your knees

  • Wedges and bolsters where you want them

  • Covered by a sheet the whole time

How a session goes

  1. 01

    Step 1: Check in

Your therapist asks how far along you are, how you are feeling and where to avoid, and checks pressure before you lie down.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Settle in

You get comfortable on your side under the sheet, with the pillows set where you want them.

  3. 03

    Step 3: The session

We work one area at a time and check pressure each time we move. Tell us to go lighter or firmer, or to stop.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Afterward

Take your time sitting up. We bring water, and you can add time or book the next visit.

Before you book

Ask first, then come as you are

  • Ask your doctor or midwife

Please ask before you book, and tell your therapist how far along you are. If your provider has asked you to wait, we wait for their go-ahead.

  • What to wear

Something loose and comfortable. You are covered by a sheet the whole time.

  • What to bring

Water and anything you want within reach. Our pillows and wedges are here.

Prenatal questions

How will I be positioned?

On your side, on a table with a long pillow between your knees and wedges and bolsters where you want them. You can change position whenever you like.

Can my doula or partner come in?

They are welcome for the first few minutes, to share what you would like. After that the session is yours, and they can wait in the front room.

What if I need to stop?

Tell us, and we stop right away. You can pause, change position or end the session at any time, for any reason.
